ABM for Good Newsletter: November 2025
Welcome …
to the debut of the ABM for Good newsletter.
Each month, we’ll share updates on what we’re up to, opportunities to get involved, and links to what we’re tracking in the broader world of nonprofits, corporate social responsibility, and social impact.
We’d love your feedback as we get the newsletter up and running!
Please consider forwarding this to a friend or colleague that might be interested in ABM for Good.

What We’re Up To
Project Reviews and Next Steps: We’ve just finished our third project working with Openlands, a great land conservation organization in the greater Chicago area. With three pilot projects completed - an exciting milestone - we’re now taking stock of what worked, what needs work, and what’s next as we look toward future collaborations. Each project has given us valuable insights and we’re eager to apply our lessons learned as we plan for upcoming projects.
Want to suggest a nonprofit that might be a fit? Interested in participating in a future project? Let us know.
Research Project: We’re kicking off our first research study, Rethinking Corporate-Nonprofit Partnerships. Our first three projectsfocused on helping nonprofits grow corporate sponsorships and partnerships using an ABM-based approach.
With the research, we’re starting on the corporate side, interviewing CSR, social impact, and corporate philanthropy leaders and experts. We want to understand what makes a great nonprofit partner, how expectations are shifting amid new political pressures and cutbacks in the nonprofit funding, and how corporate decision-making around nonprofit partnerships really works.
Interested in supporting our research? Reply to this email.
ABMers for Good: We’re excited to launch a new initiative to recognize the great work ABMers are already doing in their communities and the nonprofits they champion.
Have a story you’d like to share? We’re beginning with a series of short videos and would love to feature you! If you’re interested in highlighting an organization you support, just reply to this email.
Here’s my own story about working with the Media Diversity Institute.
October Call: Thanks to all who joined us for our October update call. Special appreciation goes to Monica Jirak and Laura Mueller from Openlands for sharing their insights and leading a fantastic discussion. And many thanks to our partners Slap Five (Jeff Ernst) and Demandbase(Kim Tremblay) for their ongoing support.
If you haven’t seen it, please take a moment to watch the Openlands video - it’s a beautiful window into the power and impact of their work.
If you were not able to join our October call and would like to watch the recording, please let me know.
Looking ahead, our next ABM for Good call is planned for January. We’ll send the confirmed date and time soon. All are welcome.
