Inspired and motivated: March newsletter

Welcome …

… to our March newsletter.

Amid global conflict and uncertainty, we can often feel discouraged about the prospects for positive change in the areas that ABM for Good cares about most: Sustainability, community development, and civic engagement.

But mission-driven work is never easy. At ABM for Good, we’re constantly inspired by the great progress that we see happening every day locally, nationally, and globally. That’s what motivates us to keep going—and to work even harder to bring the principles and practices of ABM to more nonprofit organizations doing good.

We’ve just finished our fourth project (see below) and are gearing up for 2-3 new projects over the next several months.

Interested in pitching in? Let’s discuss ways you might be able to help.

Using ABM to help nonprofits grow: An ABM for Good primer

Anne Gynn, an ABM for Good volunteer, sat recently with President and Co-founder Rob Leavitt to get a primer on the organization and understand how this long-proven strategy can be applied successfully to the nonprofit world.

Project Spotlight: Expanding the climate conversation

This month, ABM for Good completed a strategic engagement project with Healthy Planet Action Coalition (HPAC), a global network of scientists, engineers, and policy leaders working on innovative solutions to the challenges of climate change.

To support HPAC, our team helped develop a focused corporate engagement strategy aimed at expanding awareness and dialogue around the coalition’s “triad” climate approach—reducing emissions, removing greenhouse gases, and exploring responsible cooling interventions.

The HPAC leadership team was fabulous to work with and we look forward to seeing how they begin using an ABM approach to expand the global dialogue on climate stability.

Upcoming Projects

As we build momentum in 2026, we’re scoping three new advisory projects that span a range of impact areas—from technology and innovation to civic dialogue and public health:

  • Expanding technology accessibility for older adults and individuals with disabilities

  • Bridging social divides and strengthening democratic resilience

  • Improving health, housing, and economic outcomes for underserved communities

Can you suggest other organizations that might benefit from the ABM for Good approach? We’d love to talk!

What We’re Tracking

Research and insights shaping our work from the worlds of nonprofit development, corporate impact, and marketing.

  • Benevity, Corporate volunteering needs to change, and it starts with us: More employees than ever are volunteering but CSR teams struggle to keep up with changes in corporate needs, employee interests, and nonprofit partnerships. “To fully unlock the promise of corporate volunteering, we must co-create new models that meet the needs of all stakeholders.”

  • CCS Fundraising2026 CCS Philanthropy Pulse Report: More than 60% of nonprofits reported revenue growth in 2025… but pressures on fundraising continue to grow, too. Donor acquisition, leadership involvement, and donor retention are top challenges. “AI-positive” organizations tend to report stronger revenue growth but relatively few nonprofits have invested in AI strategy, training, or even formal guidelines.
